“Ursula’s Song”
"Come find me
In my dark Sea Cave
If you dare
Come find me
In my Octopus Garden
For a taste of something
extraordinarily marvelous
You may think me Evil,
I suppose you may be Right?
Or you may be wrong?
I do not care
either Witch way…
I am
Simply
The Vessel Voice of the World;
Come to me
And meet me where
Mystery kisses the Deep
And I will Offer you
Delicious Choice.
But what can She give?
What can She sacrifice?
What can She bargain for
When She is destitute?
The Body it is then…
Blood or Bone?
Milk or Marrow?
Perhaps an unborn child?
Will a glint of delight
From the Eye suffice?
Or perhaps Her Beauty?
I suppose She can trade her Song…?
The Voice of a Woman is such a small Price for the Promise of happiness,
Is it not?
Risky you say?
What is life without a little risk
my Darling Dear?
Pay no mind to those
Gossiping Seagulls,
Or those envious scuttling Crabs,
For they do not know
what it is to be She
And in the end,
We shall
In time
all turn to Sea Foam
In the End
So what will it be
You Pretty Pretty Thing?"
